I think it is just a personal choice. Mine aren't insulated, but one is under a cabinet and the other is trimmed out in wood and is under the dinette. I may not insulate mine unless I get cold toes...

The only reason I have seen them covered is for looks. Some people insulate them. Lots of trailers I have redone have them bare and I leave them that way. Just a matter of personal preference.Ron
